This year the Minority Bar Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation”) will hold its 37th annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration. Each year we celebrate diversity in legal education and legal careers through philanthropy and award recognition. It is the mission of the Minority Bar Foundation to honor individuals in our community who advance diversity and support future leaders though financial scholarships. This year’s awardees are as follows:
Legal Service Award – Robert Kresse, Esq.
Trailblazer Award – Hon. Shirley Troutman, Associate Justice, Appellate Division, Fourth Department
Lifetime Achievement Award – David Edmunds, Esq., Deputy Commissioner, NYS Liquor Authority
Education Award – Katie Campos, Teach for America Buffalo
Community Service Award – Anita Williams, Taking it to the Streets
President’s Award – Terrence McKelvey, Esq.
John L. Hargrave Law Student Award – Arrianna Hart
The celebration will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at The Mansion on Delaware, 414 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, New York 14202. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. for Cocktails, with a brief awards presentation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Cocktails and food stations will continue after the awards presentation.

Tickets are on sale now and can be reserved by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost is $85.00 per ticket and all proceeds benefit financial assistance for law students and people interested in a career in law.
